OFF LEASH PRODUCTIONS' Producer Chris Bauer wrote and produced a number of stories about the Farallon Islands for KQED's science and environment series QUEST.

The Farallon Islands can be seen on the horizon from the shore of San Francisco. Yet for being so close, they are a world away. Our collection of stories shows what life is like on and around this dynamic and ecologically rich archipelago. We cover the history, the environment and the people working to protect and understand this unique ecosystem. Our stories take the audience on, around, under and above the islands, to get a full perspective of this place like no one has ever captured before.

Some of the videos in this collection have won multiple awards, including; a Northern California Emmy Award, plus another nomination, a Society of Professional Journalists Award for Excellence in Journalism and a Society of Environmental Journalists Award.

In addition, some of these stories have been featured in numerous film festivals, including; the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival; and voted Finalist – National Marine Sanctuary Short program, voted Honorable Mention in the Broadcast category and part of the Best Online Series winner at the international BLUE Ocean Film Festival. Through the telling of these stories the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary named KQED QUEST their Media Partner of the Year.
